Death and Reincarnation (Madison Shecker's Story) pt. 29

"...Luck has never really been in my favor. I mean, I always was the one that would fail a hard test or trip over nothing whatsoever, or be beaten at picking up a dollar on the side of the street. Maybe it was my unlucky death that might of had to do with my unlucky streak. Who knows. Still, Luck has sometimes been there for me. Like when it was luck that I discovered my past by watching "Bleach". But, if luck had ever been wanted, it's now, as I try to save my best friend from death..."

SOUL SOCIETY
Toshiro's Perspective
"TOSHIRO!" he hears someone yell from outside.
"What?!" (fake) Yattamori yells as she stops in mid thrust of her dagger.
She looks through the blinds and gasps when she sees the true Yattamori below, her sword drawn.
"You!" (real) Yattamori yells, seeing the fake's face in the window.
"Wow, that was quick." (fake) Yattamori says, pushing a top of one the windows to the side so that the real Yattamori can hear her, "But you're just in time. I'm just about to kill him. Just pulled out my dagger and everything."
"Don't you dare touch him!" (real) Yattamori yells.
"Say goodbye to your precious Toshiro!" (fake) Yattamori yells as she begins to thrust her dagger.
(real) Yattamori's eyes widen in horror.
"STOP!" she screams, her high pitch screetch causing the windows to break.
(fake) Yattamori covers herself so she doesn't get injured, once again stopping before she can reach Toshiro with her blade.
"Darn that girl!" (fake) Yattamori snaps.
(real) Yattamori takes the oppourtunity to flashstep up and into the room. (fake) Yattamori whipps her head around in surprise as (real) Yattamori looks from Toshiro to her, her eyes filled with anger and fury.
"Why you!" (real) Yattamori yells as she runs towards (fake) Yattamori.
"No you don't!" (fake) Yattamori yells as she puts the dagger to Toshiro's neck, stopping (real) Yattamori in her tracks.
"You try anything, and he dies." (fake) Yattamori threatens.
Toshiro moves his head slightly to look at (real) Yattamori. She covered with bloody scraps and cuts, a large gash dripping blood across her chest.
"Yattamori..." Toshiro whispers.
Both Yattamoris looks at him with surprise.
"He's completely under my control, how is he able to speak?!" (fake) Yattamori says, her eyes wide in shock.
"...you're hurt...but how...? I carried you home...from the library..." Toshiro whispers.
(real) Yattamori's eyes widen in horror.
"You snake...you disguised yourself as me so that you could trick and kill Toshiro. That's something I cannot forgive..." (real) Yattamori says, her sword disappearing.
(fake) Yattamori looks confused.
"Huh." (fake) Yattamori says.
"I CANNOT FORGIVE YOU FOR TRYING TO KILLING HIM WITH MY FACE!" (real) Yattamori yells as wind begins to violently beat against the broken windows and whip at (fake) Yattamori's body, causing her to pull her blade away from Toshiro's neck.
(real) Yattamori takes the chance and picks (fake) Yattamori up off of Toshiro then throws her to the ground, pinning her.
"You're stronger then you look." (fake) Yattamori comments.
"Thanks, I had a lot to compete with, having him as a friend and all." (real) Yattamori answers, "But now you die, just like your followers!"
(real) Yattamori holds one of her arms out to her side, Mamori Koudoutai materalizing in her hand. She shrinks to about the size of a knife and (real) Yattamori raises her above her head.
As she begins to thrust her arm down, she hears the movement of metal. She stops in mid-swing and turns, as she looks in horror as Toshiro places his sword to his chest, that if pushed, would go straight through his heart.
"Since he's under my control, it's very easy to command him to kill himself." (fake) Yattamori comments.
"Toshiro, stop!" (real) Yattamori yells as she gets up and runs over to Toshiro, pulling his sword from his hand.
"But, you wanted me-" he starts, his eyes glazed over.
"No! No, I didn't. Toshiro, do you really believe I would want you to kill yourself?! That's insane!" (real) Yattamori snaps, tears beginning to appear in her eyes.
Toshiro's eyes widen slightly.
"Yattamori...you're crying-" Toshiro says.
"I never want to lose you! Your my best friend, please, never scare me like that!" (Yattamori) interupts, her tears falling onto his face.
"Well, isn't this just entertaining," (fake) Yattamori yells as she pulls (real) Yattamori off him and slam her to the ground, "He can't hear you, he just catches bits of what's occuring out here."
She kicks (real) Yattamori hard in the gut, causing her to cough up blood. She lowers to be sitting over (real) Yattamori, then takes hold of her collar. Without regret, she punches (real) Yattamori across the face, causing her to go slightly limp. As she coughs up more blood, (fake) Yattamori laughs, loving (real) Yattamori's pain.
Toshiro watches, his eyes widening even more with shock and horror. His instints tell him to move, but he can't obey.
...Help her, you idiot!...
He gasps silently as (fake) Yattamori takes her dagger and lifts it above (real) Yattamori. Suddenly, he feels the numbness in his body crack, finally able to feel his arms and legs. He looks over and quickly, but silently grabs Hyōrinmaru and sits up in the bed.
"Say goodbye, Madison Yattamori!" (fake) Yattamori yells.
"Toshiro, HELP!" (real) Yattamori yells, her eyes dripping tears though her eyes are squeezed shut.
...Do you want her to die again!...
"He can't do anything for you, now DIE-" (fake) Yattamori yells as she begins to thrust her dagger down.
Suddenly, Toshiro stabs (fake) Yattamori through the heart, surprising and stopping her right before her dagger touches (real) Yattamori's chest.
(real) Yattamori opens her eyes slightly to see, then gasps as she sees Hyōrinmaru sticking through (fake) Yattamori, the blood dripping from his sword's tip onto her chest. (fake) Yattamori turns her head slightly to look at Toshiro.
"How...did you...break my spell?!.." she says, trying to take in air.
"Never underestimate a captain." Toshiro says.
(fake) Yattamori sneers as she slowly transforms into a badger-like form. Her body is slightly human, but the fur she wears is blue, her ears that of a badger under her thick black hair, her eyewhites dark, her actual eye the color of midnight. Fangs and claws grow out, finishing her transformation. Though definitely not human, she is still beautiful.
"Goodbye, Kaku." Yattamori says, making Kaku just more angry.
Toshiro is surprised by the fact that Yattamori knows her true name
"Why you-!" Kaku yells, before suddenly bursting into ashes, surprising both Toshiro and Yattamori.
As the ashes disperse, Toshiro and Yattamori stay motionless, and silent. Yattamori senses the awkwardness.
"Uh, Toshiro, are you o-" Yattamori starts.
Toshiro surprises her by taking her close in his arms.
"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean, I didn't mean to do this-"  Toshiro starts.
"Wow, Toshiro, calm down. It's ok." Yattamori reassures him as she pulls slightly away from him to look him in the eye.
"No, it's not. I let her trick me. Then siduce me, it's absolutely unforgivable." Toshiro says.
"Toshiro, it wasn't your fault." Yattamori says.
She becomes speechless as he holds his hand to her face, whipping the remaining tears from her eyes.
"I did cause that, even before Kaku." he says, remembering eariler.
"Toshiro, it's ok, I know why you acted the way you did."
"I still shouldn't of left without saying bye or something."
Yattamori chuckles.
"Are you like this with Hinamori? Overprotective and all?"
He thinks over the question, finding that it's true.
"I guess."
"But still, I did put you in danger tonight."
"Actually, it's more like the other way around." she says.
Toshiro becomes confused.
"What?"
"It turns out that they were actually trying to kill you to get to me."
Toshiro becomes ash white.
"Someone's trying to kill you again..." he whispers.
"And, they've got the Bijuu on their side. And I have a feeling that they're gonna be tough."
"Why do they want you dead so much?"
Yattamori shrugs.
"Who knows."
It's now they realize that he's still holding her, and pull away from each other. Without the other knowing, they become cherry red with embaressment.
"Um, I guess I'll go." Toshiro says as he gets up.
"Uh, yeah. I'll, um, see you tomorrow, I guess." Yattamori says, pushing some glass away, "I'm just gonna go ahead and uh, clean this up."
"Great."
"Yeah."
They stay awkwardly silent, still blushing slightly.
"Well, uh, good luck and bye." Toshiro says as he walks out.
"Bye." Yattamori calls after him.
After walking silently for a few minutes, Toshiro sighs heavily.
...Man, Yattamori has only been back for one day and I've already gone and made her cry twice!...I'm surprised she didn't yell at me...When we were younger and before she died, she would of smacked me over the head...
Toshiro stops and looks back towards Yattamori's home, her silouette standing out in the light of her room. She's changed out of her haori and kimono into a black tank-top and baggy, red, plaid capris. He watches her as picks up the glass, her loose green ribbon falling out of her hair to release all of her chestnut locks. Suddenly, the image of Kaku in Yattamori's image propped over him returns to the front of his mind. He begins to blush.
...Why did I give in so easily?...I mean, yeah at the time I thought she was Yattamori, but still...I let her overwhelm me...And when she kissed me, if I think about it, but with the real Yattamori-...
He ends the thought there, now cherry red as he thinks about it. He looks back up to see Yattamori still cleaning. She turns slightly and catches him in her eye. She smiles and waves, her hair falling perfectly around her face.
He grins and waves back, before turning back and walking again. He begins to blush as another thought tumbles through his mind
...for a minute, she actually looked, different...

SOUL SOCIETY
Madison's Perpective
Madison sighs as she closes another of Mahinaheme's records, tired after a hard few hours of research. Suddenly, she feels a tap on the shoulder. She turns to see Hinamori's smiling face.
"Hello, Madison!" Hinamori says.
"Hey, Momo, what's up?" Madison says as she turns in the chair, unsually happy to hear someone not call her by "Yattamori".
The appearance of a basket shuts her up instantly.
"What do ya' think? It's 3 and you haven't had anything to eat today. I guessed you must be hungry." Momo says as she holds up a paper bag from the basket.
Madison smiles, and chuckles.
"Care to take a break and join me for a late lunch?" Momo asks.
"Sure, anything to get me away from this." Madison says as she picks up her papers.
"Great!" Momo says as Madison passes her to walk to her captain's unit.
About 20 minutes later, Momo and Madison are sitting on the hill of a meadow, laughing about old times over their lunch.
"Remember that winter when we tricked Toshiro into jumping into the pond?" Momo asks as she laughs.
"Yes! I remember how shocked we were when he swam in there for about another half hour because he was barely effected by the cold water!" Madison laughs, remembering Toshiro's iced over hair dripping across the floor when he finally returned to the house.
"Or the time you beat him in your first flashstep race?!" Momo laughs.
"Oh yeah, I think he sulked for about a month before getting over that one!" Madison laughs, leaning on Momo for support.
"And ever since, he tried to beat you!"
"And he always lost! His face was always priceless!"
The two fall back, laughing histaricly as they lay there on the ground. After a minute or two of trying to gasp for air, they lay still, watching the clouds pass.
"You know, I'm releaved that you returned." Momo says, breaking the silence.
"You've told me that at least 15 times." Madison comments, looking at her.
"But really, I am grateful."
Madison becomes more serious.
"After you died, Toshiro became such a depressed mess. And I went without smiling for months. I eventually got better and accepted your death, but Toshiro never was able to. Whenever I accidentally brought it up, he would go into a tirade about how it was his fault you died, heck, a few times, he even began crying..." Momo explains.
Madison's eyes widen in shock.
"...Then, he became cold. Even colder then before. He hid his emotions behind a wall of ice. And when he did become Captain, it's just made his subbordinates feel nervous around him. After a while, he did loosen up, probably because of Rangiku, but he still was cold most of the time. Then, suddenly, you returned, and for the first time, I saw Toshiro happy and smiling again. The first day, I hadn't know that you had returned, so when I saw him, I expected him to be in cold mode. But the minute he saw me, he smiled and waved. I was so shocked, I think my jaw dropped to the floor." Momo continues.
They both laugh.
"But, when I asked and noticed your necklace wasn't around his neck, I got super suspicious. Then, out of thin air, he told me that you had been reincarnated and returned. He was so happy, smiling so big I swear he might of gotten stuck like that. I think I started crying as soon as I got home, I was so glad that you were back, and that you had shattered his wall." Momo finishes, starring back up at the sky.
Madison watches her for a moment, then smiles, and looks up too.
"I didn't do anything. But you did a lot." Madison says.
"What?"
"I was gone for 14 years, living in a different world with only a shell of the memories and knowledge of this world. Heck, this place was nothing but a dream to me. You, on the other hand, had such a hard time here, trying to take care of Toshiro through my death. I can't even start to imagine how much trouble you two went through." Madison explains.
Momo watches her.
"So, I guess I should be thanking you."
"For what?"
Madison turns towards her and smiles
"Thank you for keeping each other alive and happy."
Momo slightly gasps. After a moment, Momo pulls Madison into a hug, surprising her. Madison grins as she hugs her back. Moments like these were scarce in this world, so she decided to make the most of them, even if she is having trouble breathing.

Death and Reincarnation (Madison Shecker's Story) pt. 28

"...To threaten something prescious to someone is to threaten that person theirself. That's how I remember feeling that moment I decided to push Toshiro out of harm's way and died myself. I couldn't think of him dying. I wouldn't think out it. But, if someone were to try to take him again, I would do the same thing all over again. But, if I couldn't save him, I don't know what I would do. I think I would die myself, not physically, but mentally. He's my best friend, and if he was gone, then, I couldn't continue as I do now. I would rather face death again then to see that, and that's the truth..."

Madison's Perspective
Madison blinks as she wakes up from her nap. She yawns as she sits up and looks around.
"Man, I must of been exhausted. I think it took me less then two minutes to fall asleep." Madison says to herself.
Suddenly, she realizes where she is.
"Why am I on the floor? And when did I walk to this book aisle?" Madison says as she stands.
She rubs her head as she tries to remember what had happened. She had got to the Library and Records around three and had been looking through documents for a least four hours. Then she had taken a break and went out for tea with Miyoko and Haruna after they had run into her in one of the record nooks. After, she came back here and continued where she had left off. Then, after getting a refill of tea, she got really tired, then blank. Nothing.
The last place she remembers being is at a desk, studying an I.D. file. Madison quickly runs towards the area of desks and finds the one she had been at. It is completely cleared. All of the texts and papers that she had collected must of been put back and/or moved. Nothing remained, except for the cup of tea she had been drinking.
"Dang it, now I'll have to look all over again." Madison says as she picks up the cup of tea.
Not wanting to drink something bad, she sniffs the tea, and is surprised by a uncalled smell.
"What the...?" Madison says as she takes another sniff of the tea.
...it's an strong anesthetic...
"Why would an anesthetic be in my tea?" Madison says as she looks around.
Her eyes widen when she notices the clock. 10:03 p.m.
...I've been asleep for two hours!?...
"Ok, I need to find out what's going on, and fast." Madison says to herself as she looks around the room.
Out if the corner of her eye, she sees the Captains' Information containers. She quickly rushes over.
Madison smiles when she finds her's slightly open. She opens the door of the unit and is surprised when she sees all of the texts on Mahinaheme stacked nicely inside. On top, is a small piece of folded paper with her name on it. She quickly takes it and unfolds it, then reads aloud.
"Yattamori, sorry what happened eariler. I know I probably was acting like a jerk, but trust that I have my reasons for my actions. I hope you forgive me. See you later, Toshiro." she reads aloud, surprised by the note.
"Toshiro put my stuff here? Was he also the one that moved me?" Madison asks herself as she rereads the note.
After reading Toshiro's note for a fifth time, she looks back into her unit and grins.
"I must be paranoid." Madison says as she reaches into the small area.
As her hand brushes the top of the top book, a vision comes to her mind.
She sees Toshiro carrying someone. It pans in to reveal it's her, asleep.
...What the..?...
Suddenly, her other self opens her eyes to reveal dark eyes filled with evil intentions, and she smirks, her fang teeth as she called them sharpened like a vampires. Then, nothing but blood red sheens over her eyes with a dager thrusted sword swinging down. Then black.
Madison clutches her head as the vision ends, sending chills up her spine.
"Toshiro...he's in danger!" Madison yells as she slams her unit's door shut and runs towards the entrance at a full sprint.
Suddenly a dark spiritual pressure fills the air as she runs outside. She turns to see a few shadowed beings standing in the darkness of the trees' shade.
"Captain Madison Yattamori, You weren't supposed to awaken for another two hours..." one of the beings says in a dark, low voice.
"Well, as you can see, I'm awake. Now, if you'll excuse me-" Madison says as she begins to walk again.
"Not so fast, sweetie. We cannot allow you to leave here..." another one of the beings says in a higher voice, obviously female.
"Why not?" Madison asks.
"We cannot let you pass until our master is done with her mission..." a being says as it steps out of it shadow, revealing a lean, tall man cloaked in black.
"Mission? What mission?" Madison asks, beginning to become irritated.
"A assination mission of course..." the female says, jumping from a high, shadowed perch in a nerby tree, revealing a lean women dressed with the same black cape as the other man, but wore more stripper like clothing, revealing her flat belly and long skinny legs held by black, heeled, knee-length boots.
Madison's eyes widen as realizes the mission.
...They're gonna kill Toshiro...
"I won't allow your master to kill him!" Madison says as she begins to run again, only to be blocked by the lean man.
"That is not for you to decide. Toshiro Hitsugaya will be killed tonight, and you cannot change that." the man says, his face hidden by the hood of his cloak.
"Watch me." Madison says as she tries to pass the man, only to be thrown back into a nearby tree.
"We will not allow you to interfere with our master's plans." the man with the low voice says as he exits his shadow to reveal a plump, older man wearing the same cloak as the others in the same style as the other man.
"Then you leave me no choice..." Madison says, Mamori Koudoutai appearing on her back, "I will kill you here and now so I can save Toshiro!"
Madison snaps her wrist and takes hold of Mamori, whipping her out of her sheath and throwing it to one of her sides, her eyes beginning to glow light blue and her body beginning to glow lime green as she releases her spiritual pressure, making the air crack as winds begin to blow violently.
The three cloaked beings stand completely still. The girl smirks and she whipps her cape around, revealing her own katana.
"Alright girlie, I'll take you on!" the girl says as she pulls out her sword and begins running towards Madison.
"Big mistake..." Madison whispers, "DIE!"
As Madison whipps her sword around and looks at the women, she sees Aneko starring at her, causing Madison to stop in mid-swing.
"Aneko...?" Madison says.
Aneko smirks and swings her sword down to meet Madison's blade.
...that's not Aneko!...
Madison flashsteps out of the way and swings again on Aneko, who's surprised that Madison even counters.
"Why would you attack your friend?!" Aneko says, her voice so familar.
Madison smirks.
"Your spiritual pressure feels nothing like Aneko's. And, your hair is brown. Aneko's is jet black." Madison explains, "What are you?"
The beings stand motionless for a moment before the girl smirks.
"Impressive. Most would not notice stuff like that. Gotta admit you're good." Aneko says as her voice changes to the female's, and her body morphs back to the way it was, "We're what you would call
Shapeshifter Minor Bijuu."
"Wait, like Naruto bijuu?" Madison says, having a weird Naruto deja vu moment.
"What?" the lean male bijuu asks.
"Never mind." Madison says, remembering that seeing as how she wasn't in the other world, no one here had probably ever heard of Naruto.
"Anyway, we are not true Bijuu. We assist the true ones in their missions." the female explains.
"And you're helping, who, exactly?" Madison asks.
"Kaku, the seventh." the plump male answers.
...Good, she's one of the weakest...
"Well, you sure are telling me a lot. Why?" Madison asks.
"You'll be dead soon, so it makes sense that we tell you about who will kill you." the female says, smirking.
"Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but I don't plan on dying today..." Madison says as she suddenly vanishes, then appears again stabbing her sword threw the lean man, ultimately killing him, "So I'll try to make this as quick as possible."
"Hayato!" the female yells as the man falls to the ground, then implodes into ashes.
"Who's next?" Madison asks, her eyes glowing wildly.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Toshiro's Perspective
Yattamori still sleeps soundly as he walks up to her home barricks. It must of been exhausting for her that day, cause she has barely moved at all, her snoring and rising belly the only indication that she was indeed sleeping.
"T-Toshiro...?" he hears Yattamori whisper.
He looks down to see Yattamori's eyes beginning to open.
"Look who finally woke up, and good timing too. We're right outside your barricks." Toshiro says as he walks up the steps to the front door.
"You carried me from the Library?" she asks.
"Yep." Toshiro says as he opens the door without dropping Yattamori.
"You could of just woke me up." Yattamori comments.
"Well, you were sleeping so soundly, didn't want to wake you." he explains as he shuts the door behind him.
"Since when have you been a gentleman?" Yattamori asks, being sarcastic.
Sercretly, she locks the door behind his back, and seals it.
"Who knows." Toshiro says as he begins to walk up the stairs.
For a few minutes, they don't say anything, until they reach the door to her room.
"Ok, here we are." Toshiro says as he walks into the room.
"Hey, Toshiro?"
She seals the door.
"Yes?"
"Can you lay down with me for a few minutes?"
Toshiro begins to blush.
"Wha-What?"
"Just for a few minutes. I don't feel so great, and I think I'll fall asleep easier. Just until I fall asleep, please."
Toshiro looks away and thinks, then sighs and looks back down at her.
"Alright, but just until you fall asleep." Toshiro answers as he walks into her bed chamber.
"Thanks."
Carefully, he lays her in the bed, then awkwardly lays down with her, blushing still.
"Hey, can you take the ribbon out of my hair?" she asks, turned away from him.
"Uh, yeah, sure." Toshiro says as he pulls one end of the lime green ribbon, releasing all of Yattamori's chestnut brown hair.
"I'm sorry, this is making you uncomfortable, isn't it?" she says.
"No, no, I'm fine." Toshiro says, trying to reassure her and not make her feel worse then she does.
Slowly, a smirk secretly rises to her face as her dark eyes return.
...Time to start my mission...
Slowly, she turns over and lays her head on Toshiro's chest, making him blush.
"Ya-Yattamori?"
"Oh, sorry, am I bothering you?" she asks as she looks up at him, power rising to her eyes.
He blinks a few times, before looking away, trying to not fixate his eyes with hers.
"No, no. I'm good." Toshiro says still blushing.
She grins as the automatic blinds begin to shut.
"Great." she says.
After a few minutes, Yattamori moves closer to him, rising to right below his neck as she holds his cheek in her left hand, causing him to become cherry red.
"Am I making you uncomfortable?" she asks, her voice guilty, but light.
He relaxes and smiles.
"Actually, I feel great."
She smiles.
"Perfect."
As time passes, he feels himself become calmer and calmer before he finds her perfectly fine as she rises even more to nibble on his left ear.
"Am I bothering you?" she whispers seducingly into his ear.
"Not at all. I actually kinda like it." he answers.
She smiles devilishly. Within seconds she gets on her forearm and sits over him, her long hair stringing over him. She caress his cheek, and smiles.
"Do you mind?" she asks.
"Nope..." he says, losing himself in her eyes.
She takes hold of his head with both hands and lowers her head, an inch from his mouth.
"You are mine..." whispers as she lowers, kissing him.
In total lip-lock, he lets go of all control and wraps his hands around her waist, allowing her to take everything and become her's.
She's come up and looks him in the eye, smiling.
"You're mine, right?" she asks, carressing his cheek.
"Yes, Yattamori..." he answers.
"Nah, ah, ah. To you, I'm Master." she instructs.
"Yes, Master..." he says, not caring at all.
She smiles and dives back into his lips, making him love it more.
After a few minutes, she comes up and chuckles. Suddenly, a dark figure appears next to the bed. Before he can see, Yattamori covers his face and ears, so he can't hear.
"The status of your mission...?" the being asks.
"Complete success. He's completely under my spell. Right now, he'd be willing to do anything for me." she answers, smiling evilishly.
"Good. Now finish your job and kill him..." the being instructs.
"Ah, that's not like me. You know how I play. I was planning on having a little fun with him." she says as she kisses him again.
"The real Yattamori is on her way. Kill him, NOW!"
Fake Yattamori is surprised.
"She's awake. That narcotic should of put her out for at least three more hours!"
"Well, it didn't. And now she's on her way. Finish him!"
"Alright, alright. I'll do it."
"Don't disapoint me..." the being says before disappearing.
"Dang it, she just ruined my mood." she says before revealing Toshiro and giving him another deep kiss, "Well, I guess it was fun while it lasted. Now Toshiro..."
"Yes...?"
"Close your eyes and think of good things..."
He does as he's told and shuts his eyes, not paying attention to the dagger Yattamori pulls from the inside of her kimono and raises it above his chest.
"I'm not a fan of letting my prey die a death like your's, but it's my boses orders, so I must. But, don't worry, the real Yattamori will be along soon enough." she says as she sits above him, "Goodbye Toshiro Hitsugaya."
Without thinking, she thrusts her dagger down, as Toshiro lays there, as calm as can be.

Death and Reincarnation (Madison Shecker's Story) pt.. 27

...Princess Mahinaheme, Daughter to the Soul King and Queen, the rulers of the Soul Society. Many say that she was an angel born into this world in time of need, for she had many abilities like those in S. Squad T.P. today. Except, her pure power was much greater. And her eyes glowed like fires of heaven, not hot red, but the coolest of light blue. As the first born, she would of ruled the Soul Society. Many thought that this was a miracle. But, the miracle was shattered. About 140 years ago, the royal palace was attacked by rouge Soul Reapers who had betrayed the Soul Society, aiming on killing all of the Royal Family. After the great battle, it was found that all of the Royal Family had survived. Well...all but one...

"It...what?..." Madison says, starring at Toshiro.
Toshiro turns back to face her, surprise in his eyes.
"Yattamori, you don't remember?" Toshiro asks.
She shakes her head.
"I remember a few times when I was researching, but that's about it." Madison answers, "What do you mean by "It's because of this cursed search that I died in the first place?"
Toshiro looks away, then sighs and turns back to face her.
"After you died, we were able to learn a few reasons why the hollow might of wanted to kill you. One of the reasons was that you might of been getting too close to uncovering some key information in the missing Princess's case." Toshiro explains.
"I also looked into other files and found that other Soul Reapers who been assigned the case had died by some of the same actions." the Head Captain interjects, "Though, your death was the most unique."
Toshiro and Yattamori look surprised.
"How was it unique?" she asks.
"I read the records and discovered the usual way the Soul Reaper was killed. It seems that instead of facing it head on, the hollow would kill someone or something important to the true target, so to make the target weaker. But, instead of doing it by usual means, they killed you directly instead of taking the time to kill the person with you, Toshiro." the Head Captain explains.
Yattamori's eyes widen.
...They were using that tactic...if I hadn't had the vision, then pushed him out of the way...Toshiro would of died too...
She looks over at Toshiro, who's probably thinking the same thing. His hand is now clenched in a tight fist.
"Toshiro-" she whispers.
"So, why did you give it to her, knowing that will probably be the outcome!?" Toshiro yells as he steps in front of Madison, cutting her off.
"Because, she now will have a good idea of what to expect-" the Head Captain starts.
"No, you're just gonna send her back to the grave!" Toshiro snaps, making Madison gasp as her eyes widen.
"Captain Hitsugaya, please-" the Head Captain starts, trying to calm Toshiro.
"I won't allow you to put her in that position again! I won't let her die-!" Toshiro interrupts again.
"Toshiro, please!" Madison says as takes hold of his middle from behind, dropping the file.
Her cry stops Toshiro in mid yell, making him speechless. She hears him cock his head to see her face smushed into the back of his haori, her eyes squeezed shut.
"Madison...?" he says.
"I know you're worried, but you can't just go around barking at the Head Captain about his decisions. I have no choice, and you can't change the course of the matter. What's final is final. I have to take the assignment. And there's nothing you can do that will change that fact, Toshiro." Madison says, looking up at him.
Toshiro's eyes widen as her words sink in. The stay like that for a few moments, until Toshiro breaks his stare. He then quickly turns back to face away from her. She in return lets go of him and picks up her file, which amazingly didn't sprawl all over the floor. She looks down to see his fists to clenched tight, but says or does nothing to notion that she noticed.
"I'm sorry, I you'll excuse me, there's some work I need to get done. Goodbye." Toshiro says as he bows then walks towards the door, all without even turning towards Madison.
"Toshiro, wait!" she yells after him, walking a few steps behind him and reaching out to catch him, then stopping.
He doesn't respond, and keeps walking. She lowers her hand and turns away in response, slightly looking over her shoulder to see that he's gone. A hurt frown becomes her expression as she turns to face Grandpa Yamma. He seems concerned, but tries to ignore the scene.
"So, does this mean you except the assignment given?" he asks.
"Didn't you hear me? I said I have no choice but to accept. So, in the text said, I made clear that I accept. Thank you for having such belief in me. I'll try not to fail this time." Madison says as a bitter sweet smile comes to her face and she bows.
Grandpa Yamma, looks concerned, but doesn't address anything.
"Thank you, Captain Yattamori, you may leave now if you wish." Grandpa Yamma says.
She nods then turns and walks out the door.
When she comes to stand outside the building in the cold, crisp, winter air, she quickly hides in the undergrowth of dead bushes and shurbs. As soon as she can't be seen, she silently begins to cry, clutching the file close to her as if it was a plush toy. She stays there for about 25 minutes, crying and thinking over the afternoon's events. She finally stops when she feels something hit her already soaked cheeks. She looks up towards the sky to see tiny snowflakes sprinkling down onto the already white ground. She quickly wipes her face of any more tears and sneaks back out onto the barrick cobble path, then begins to walk alone.
"You'd better hurry if you want to get to your quarters before the worst of the storm hits." a familiar voice says from behind her.
She turns around to see Captain Ukitake and Captain Kuoraku standing behind her. When they noticed her face, they begin to look concerned.
"Is something wrong Yattamori? You look as if you've been crying." Kuoraku says.
"I do? Oh, it must be the weather, it makes my eyes water sometimes." Madison lies, putting on a fake smile.
"Oh, I see. Hey, is that your first assignment?" Ukitake says as he notices the file in her arms.
She nods.
"What is it?" Kuoraku asks.
She looks surprised, then frowns as she hands it to Ukitake, who reads it. His eyes widen.
"You got the Mahinaheme case again?!" Ukitake asks as Kuoraku reads it.
"That's right." she says, smiling weakly.
"But that's the same one that-" Kuoraku begins.
"-lead to my ultimate demise, I know, I know. Toshiro went on a full rampage because of it." Madison finishes.
Kuoraku and Ukitake look surprised.
"Captain Hitsugaya? Went on a rampage? That doesn't sound like him at all. He's usually all cool and mature about situations." Kuoraku comments.
"Well, he did. Snapped on Grandpa Yamma and everything." Madison interjects.
They look even more surprised.
"The Head Captain?! Man, now I can't even imagine that." Ukitake says.
"Speaking of Captain Hitsugaya, where is he?" Kuoraku asks as he holds the file to her.
Madison looks surprised, then fades back to frowning.
"I don't know. After I told him to stop and that I was taking the assignment, he left...without even looking at me..." Madison answers as she takes the file and holds it close in her arms.
Ukitake and Kuoraku look surprised, then look at each in guilt.
"We're sorry, we didn't know-" Ukitake starts.
"It's alright. It's not like you knew. Besides, Toshiro does this all the time. Once he's cooled down, I'm sure everything will be fine and back to normal." Madison says as she falsely smiles, trying to reassure them.
"O-Oh, alright. So, where are you headed." Ukitake asks.
"I'm going to the Sereitei Library and Records. I decided that it would be a good idea to get a jump-start on my assignment." Madison answers.
"Do you want us to tag along?" Kuoraku asks.
...YES!!....
"No, that's alright. I'll be ok on my own. I get more done that way too." Madison answers.
"Well, alright, See you later." Ukitake says.
"Bye!" Madison says as she turns back.
She doesn't notice, but Ukitake and Kuoraku see new tears beginning to escape down her face as she runs away from them.

Toshiro's Perspective
9:21 p.m.
Toshiro sits alone in his office drinking a hot cup of fresh tea. The day's events run past his mind in jumbles. He soon gets frustrated and slams his cup hard on his desk, then turns to looks out the window, to see large snowflakes sailing down in the sky. He smiles. He, having a snow and ice type zampakutou, loves the winter months and it's weather.
...Yattamori used to always throw the hardest snowballs...
His eyes widen as Yattamori rises back to his mind. Her hurt frown had been plastered in his mind all day and he couldn't get it out.
"It's her fault for accepting that assignment in the first place. So why should feel bad? It's her fault!" Toshiro says as takes another sip of his tea.
He sits it back down and turns back towards the window.
"...I have no choice, and you can't change the course of the matter. What's final is final. I have to take the assignment. And there's nothing you can do that will change that fact, Toshiro..."
Her voice stream past his mind. He sighs then places his head in his hands.
...It can't...It was never her fault...
He begins to chuckle.
"Look at me. Here I am blaming everything on her, when the fact is she had no choice but to take it. And, on top of that, it was her that saved me from dying so she could be sacrificed later. I should be thanking her, not blaming her..." he says.
"Then why don't you?" a voice says, surprising him.
He turns around.
"Ukitake, Kuoraku. What are you two doing here?" Toshrio asks.
"Looking for you. We've been looking for you since about 2:30 this afternoon." Ukitake answers.
"Why?"
"Because we wanted to know why you really went off on Old Man, Yamma." Kuroaku answers.
Toshiro looks surprised.
"How did you-?" Toshrio starts.
"We ran into Captain Yattamori. She told us what happened." Ukitake answers.
"Oh..." Toshiro says
"What exactly happened?" Kuoraku asks.
"Yattamori told you didn't she?" Toshiro says.
"All she told us was that you went off because of her assignment." Ukitake says.
"That's pretty much it." Toshiro says, turning back to the window in his hair.
"She also told us that you walked out without even looking at her." Ukitake says.
Toshiro tenses.
"Is that also true?" Ukitake asks.
Toshiro sighs and turns some to look at them.
"Yes, I did." he answers.
"Why?" Kuoraku asks.
"I was frustrated. I didn't want Yattamori see me like that. So I walked away." Toshiro explains.
"Then why didn't you answer her when she called out to you to come back?" Kuoraku asks.
Toshiro becomes wide eyed.
"She told you that?" Toshiro asks quietly.
"No, we could just tell by how she was acting when she told us about you walking out on her." Kuoraku answers.
Toshiro looks away and turns around in his seat, taking his tea in his hand.
"Did she look like she had been crying...?" Toshiro asks, still turned around.
Ukitake and Kuoraku look surprised, then turn towards each other before saying anything.
"We didn't say anything, but she still had a few tears streaming down her face." Ukitake answers.
Toshiro's hand clenched around his cup, and he turns back and slams it on the table, surprising the two captains. He stays quiet for a few moments before he releases his cup and puts his head in his hands.
...I made her cry...
"What the heck is wrong with me?" Toshiro says.
"What?" Ukitake asks.
"Here I am, saying that I won't let her be hurt again, and I'm the one making her hurt..." Toshiro says, his head still in his hands.
Ukitake and Kuoraku look at each in surprise, then turn back to him.
"You got upset because you know there's a chance she might be targeted again, is that right?" Kuoraku asks.
Toshiro stays quiet.
"And you left Madison after she said that she accepted because you didn't want her to see you all torn up about it." Ukitake says.
Toshiro looks up and sighs.
"You two know me too well." Toshiro comments.
"You have been a Captain for over a decade, we begin to notice traits." Kuoraku says.
"Yeah, but you were slightly off on the last thing." Toshiro says as he stands to face the window.
"Really, what?" Kuoraku asks.
"I left her behind because, I didn't want to break down myself..." Toshiro answers.
"Huh?" Kuoraku says.
"If I had looked at her for another minute, I probably would of walked out of there crying out of helplessness." Toshiro answers.
"You, cry?" Ukitake says.
"I know, hard to imagine right?" Toshiro says, "But you need to understand, I want to help her so bad. I want to be there to protect her. But, in this situation, I can't. And, I hate that she's being put in danger again. That's why."
"You know, you can still help her." Ukitake says.
"How?" Toshiro asks, still turned away.
"To start off, go to the Sereitei Library and Records and apologize. She's probably still there doing research." Kuoraku says.
Toshiro then turns with out saying anything, and walks past them. He stops at the door, then turns back.
"Thanks, for everything." Toshiro says as he opens the door, then flashsteps away.
After a few minutes, Toshiro finds himself infront of the Sereitei Library and Records, walking up the steps to the large building. When he enters, he sees little around him, the building almost deserted. As he walks through more of the Library, he spots a desk in the sitting area with a light on. As he nears, he notices a lime green ribbon, and smiles.
When he reaches the table, he finds Yattamori sound asleep, laying over at least 10 open books and loose papers. He looks at the information that she was looking at.
"Mahinaheme's I.D. profile, Spotting Records, Her Zampakutou analysis, Presipse World Records from 1870, dang, she looking at everything." Toshiro comments as he looks through the research.
After a few minutes of putting the books and papers in a safe place for the next day, he walks back over to Yattamori, who's still snoring away.
"Ok, Yattamori, picking you up now, so be prepared." Toshiro says as he puts arms around her and picks her up to cradle her.
"Dang, you need to eat more, you weigh lighter then the last time." Toshiro comments as he carries her out into the night.
The sudden rush of cold air causes Yattamori to pull herself closer to him, causing him to blush a little.
After a moment, Toshiro looks down and notices a tear in the corner of Yattamori's eye, reminding him of earlier.
"I'm sorry Yattamori, I didn't mean to make you cry. I just got frustrated, is all." Toshiro says as he turns a corner.
Suddenly, Yattamori's arms rise around him and lock on his right shoulder, causing him to become redder then before. He looks down at her, and gasps quietly when he notices her grinning. He smiles.
"Thank you Madison." Toshiro says as he still walks.
He doesn't notice, but her eyes flutter slightly open, revealing dark, cold eyes, and she smiles a devilish grin, thinking only one thing...
...And thank you for playing perfectly into our trap...

Death and Reincarnation (Madison Shecker's Story) pt. 26

"...Three days...I was in that world for three days! How on Earth does that transfer to being a month in the Soul Society?! Seriously, that's just weird. Oh well, can't change it now, now I have to concentrate on my first mission back as Captain. And from the look on Toshiro's face, the huge stack of files in my hands, and my heart beating like crazy, something inside of me tells me that this isn't going to a walk in the park, or fun for that matter. Oh, and to top it off, I'm under strict watch by Aneko, who isn't taking a step towards me since my "evil outburst". Oh, how I missed this place...

December 5th, 2010
2:26 a.m.
OUR WORLD
Madison's Perspective
Madison stairs at her ceiling as she finally gives in after trying to fall back asleep at least 10 times. The ceiling fan is on high, creating a soft wind that blows her bangs back and forth across her face, her only entertainment
at the moment. She looks over at the clock and watches it until is turns to 2:27.
"It's been three days, Toshiro..." she says to herself.
Ever since she got back, she's been on edge about being away from her friends, especially Toshiro, in the Soul Society. Madison has never been the type that likes to make people worry. She liked to see everyone smiling and having a good time. That is why she likes it when her family do stuff together. Vacations, dinner, movie nights, game nights. These are all things that she loves, especially because of the comedy that usually occurs. She turns on her side and sighs.
Suddenly she feels a weird chill run across her body, and holds herself tight to keep her warmth in. Slowly her teeth begin to chatter, a occurance that had never happened before now. The chill turns slowly into a cold wind rushing around her, causing her to pull the covers higher then usual.
"What the heck is-" Madison begins to say through her chattering teeth.
...Madison...
Madison's eyes widen as Toshiro's voice passes her mind. She sits up straight in her bed, noticing the cold wind begin to become warmer. She looks down at her cross necklace that she just noticed looks like the number symbol of Toshiro's squad, and sees a thin layer of ice has formed.
"...Toshiro...the chill...it was his spiritual pressure..." Madison says to herself as she realizes the cause of her uncomfortable experience.
But the situation had a few problems. 1, she had never been seriously affected by his spiritual pressure like she had just been. And 2, how would she feel his spiritual pressure on this side? It was pretty much impossible.
...Madison...can you hear me?...
But that is definitely his voice. Slowly, Madison's heartbeat slows, and for the first time, she's feeling tired. she lays her head square in the middle of her pillow and fights to keep her eyes open.
...What's happening to me?....
It's now that she realizes she can no longer feel her legs and hands. She looks around to see her room fading into a white void, the same that she traveled through last time when her soul was transported to the...
The Soul Society!
Her soul is being called by her body in the Soul Society! That, and Toshiro...
No, he would never be capable of doing that. At least, as well as she knows of course.
Finally the void fully envelops her. She watches as her 3-dismensional body is transformed into her skin from the Soul Society, then her kimono and haori. Her right eye is covered by her bangs quickly and her hair magically is drawn back in her lime green bow. The feel of the clothes makes her smile, glad that she's finally returning after the past three days. She then begins to glow until suddenly all around her is black.
When she reopens her eyes, she finds herself looking up at a white ceiling, with rays of mid-day sunlight shinning through the cracks in the window blinds. She turns to look around to see she's in an all too familiar squad 4 patient room. But, she smiles anyway, because if she is in a squad 4 patient room, it means she's in the squad 4 grounds, which is in the Sereitei, in the Soul Society.
"Yes!" Madison says as she sits up, pushing the covers off, then turns to face the door, now noticing that her hair is down and her bangs are pushed over.
It's now that she remembers her last time trying to get out of the bed. She jumped off and immediately fell. But, Toshiro had caught, then had help her stand up, while looking at her....
She shakes her head as if to shake the awkward memory out of her mind, which still makes her blush. Slowly she presses her feet to the cool, hardwood floor, and, while holding the bed, stands. She feels her ankles give and she falls flat on her butt. Hard.
"Ow!" Madison yelps, as she tries to stand back up.
For about 15 more minutes of tripping, falling, collasping, and total abuse of her butt, she finally gets enough balance to walk across the room without tripping over her own feet to grab her new kimono and haori. As she dresses, she notices a colorful object out of the corner of her eye. She turns and her eyes widen. It's a bouquet of purple orchids, light pink sweet pea, yellow roses, and yellow/orange chrysanthemums, the November birth flower, in a crystal vase with a lime green ribbon tied around it.
"Flowers? Who got me flowers?" Madison says to herself as she walks over to the vase, picking up the card in one hand while wrapping the sash around her belly with the other.
To Yattamori, Wake up soon...
...Toshiro...
Madison feels her cheeks get hot. Toshiro had got these for her? Since when had he been so...caring? She looks back down at the card and sees a P.S. below the short message.
Day 25...
She drops the card. Day 25? She's been gone for more then 25 days?! That's almost a month!
Madison turns back to a small calender sitting on the table with the flowers.
January 6, 2011
Crap! It has been a full month! But in the other world it's only been three days!
She quickens her pace and finishes getting her outfit and hair in it's usual sort, then rushes out the door.
I need to find Toshiro! Or at least Aneko...
It's now that she remembers her incident with Aneko during that weird trance thing during the duel with Kenta. She'll have to apologize as soon as she sees her again. If she wants to see her again that is.
When she rounds the corner, she finds squad 4 members looking at her in shock. As she runs past, she hears them yelling "Captain Yattamori is awake!", "Get Captain Unohana!", "Locate the Head Captain, along with Captain Hitsugaya, and notify them at once!"
As soon as she exits the building, she flashsteps as fast as she can out of there. She senses others following, but they quickly disappear from her thought, her brain only focused on getting to the Squad 10 barricks as quick as possible. When she nears the Squad 10 grounds, she sees a familiar face staring at her from below.
It's Rangiku.
"Yattamori!?" she yells as Madison flashsteps overhead.
Within seconds, she's feet from Toshiro's barricks door. Madison suddenly feels her heart beginning to pound as she walks up the steps to the porch leading to the door ahead. When she comes to stand right in front of the door, she can hear Toshiro pacing inside, making her butterflies even worse. She takes a deep breath and raises her hand to knock on the door.
Suddenly, just before her fist hits the door, it swings open, to reveal Toshiro in an apparent hurry. But when he sees it's her, he freezes in mid-step, staring straight into her eyes.
"Toshiro..." Madison says, breaking the awkward silence.
Toshiro's eyes widen.
"Yattamori...that's really you? You woke up?" Toshiro says, still staring at her.
For no reason, Madison cracks, tears beginning to form in her eyes. It wasn't until now that she realized how much she missed him.
"Toshiro!" Madison yells as she throws her arms around his neck and pulls herself close to Toshiro, who's surprised by her outburst.
She can't see, but he's turning redder then a cherry, embarrassed.
"Ya-Yattamori?!.." Toshiro yells as she begins to cry.
Toshiro's surprised expression turns to a content frown, and he puts his arms around her, still blushing as he does so.
"I know, I missed you too." Toshiro says as Madison stills sobs into his shoulder.
Rangiku appears a distance away and immediately takes to the shad as she notices the scene. She watches, and grins.
"Welcome back, Yattamori..." Rangiku whispers.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Toshiro's Perspective
Yattamori and Toshiro walk silently together up to the doors of the Head Captain's office. He looks over to see that Yattamori's tears have mostly dried, and her nose and eyes are no longer red from the stinging of the tears falling down her cheeks.
She notices him looking at her and turns her head. Toshiro immediately whips his head, making it more awkward.
"Toshiro...?" Yattamori says.
"What?" he asks.
"I don't get it, why are you acting all nice to me?" she says.
Toshiro stops and turns towards Yattamori, who stopped a few paces behind him.
"What do you mean?" he asks.
She looks up at him and steps closer to stand right in front of him. Slowly she lifts her hand to trace the scar on his right cheek, the same she had created with her blade while under her evil influence. He understands. Yattamori feels guilty about cutting him.
She turns from him.
"I hurt you...and Aneko...and I probably scared most, if not all my squad."
"That wasn't your fault-" he begins.
"Then who's fault is it?! Who made me stab Aneko, and swing at you?! Tell me!" she snaps, causing Toshiro to back up.
"I-"
"Toshiro, something has happened to me. I don't know when, but it did."
"Yattamori, your still you-"
"No, I'm not Toshiro. I'm not that happy go lucky girl who you joked around with when you were a kid. I'm Madison Shecker. A 14 year old who just wants to draw and hang out with friends and be a normal teenager! Yattamori died, I might look like her and have her memories, but I'm not her!" Yattamori snaps.
Toshiro's eyes widen in surprise, and he gasps.
It takes a few moments for Yattamori to register what she just said. She rubs her head with her hands, and pushes her bangs out from in front of her right eye, a rare occurance.
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean what I said. I just have all this crap going on in my head and-"
"Yattamori, calm down. It's ok. You don't have to apologize. I understand how you feel right now."
"How?"
"I blamed myself for your death, remember?" Toshiro says as he begins to walk again.
...And I still do...
Yattamori's eyes widen and she walks quick to catch up with him.
"But that wasn't your fault-"
"Let's not talk about this now, alright." Toshiro asks, cutting her off.
She nods as the door opens.
"Yattamori. Glad to see that you've fully recovered." the Head Captain says from behind his desk as they walk in.
"Thanks Grandpa Yamma. Now, why did you call me?" Yattamori asks.
"I have your first assignment for you." the Head Captain says as he hands a file to one of his squad member, who walks it over to her.
"What is it?" Yattamori asks.
"You'll know, trust me." the Head Captain answers.
She turns over the file and her eyes widen as she reads the name on the cover.
"Princess Mahinaheme's location file?!" Yattamori says.
Toshiro's eyes widen in alarm.
"You gave her that assignment again!?" Toshiro yells.
"She was the last one to work on the case and gain any new information, so I only thought it suited her-" the Head Captain starts.
"It's because of this cursed search that Madison died in the first place!" Toshiro yells.
