M.S.A.A. pt. 76

"...What the heck? I have absolutely no idea what to do in this situation. I mean, like I've said before, I never had this much trouble with Cree, Bianca, or Kayla when it came to unlocking their abilities, maybe, oh, a day? But with Virginia, it's been at least a week, at best. Not to mention that we've gone back home and come back since, so pretty much, she's way behind the other's when it comes to naming her zanpakuto. Damn, I wish that this would end, just so I could take a little break of my own. I mean, after that horrible....horrible experience with Shukaku, I just want to sit back, and take a breather. Is it my fault that maybe this is taking forever? Well, I may just leave this to Cree, cause it seems all that I'm doing is making it worse..."

SOUL SOCIETY
Virginia's Perspective
Mariya groans as her blade brings up more dirt, making the count of Virginia's total dodges a whopping 197.
"Oh, c'mon! Stop dodging me already Virginia!" Mariya yells, turning to look at Virginia.
Virginia holds her knees, leaning over a bit as she pants. She looks up at Mariya, glaring a bit.
"Well, I'm sorry! Every time I see that stupid thing coming at me, my first instinct is to get the heck out of the way so I can survive! It's human nature!" Virginia replies.
"Well, it was their human nature for only about four hours, then ta-da! Zanpakuto name!" Mariya says, gesturing at Cree, Bianca, and Kayla, who are sitting nearby, Bianca and Kayla asleep as Cree seems on edge.
"It's not like I'm trying to take forever!-" Virginia fights.
"Well you are, now stop dodging!" Mariya snaps, whipping her sword around.
Virginia's face goes white, bending back, doing a back flip.
Mariya blinks.
"Well, I'll give you that you're getting better at quickly reacting, but at this point, without your zanpakuto, it won't matter!" Mariya says.
Virginia pants, looking back up at her.
"Well, I have a thought." Virginia says.
"What is it Virginia?" Cree asks.
"Well...have you....ever once thought that...maybe..." Virginia trails.
Mariya notices the worry in Virginia's voice, calming the tension a bit.
"What Virginia?" Mariya asks.
"Well..." Virginia starts, before snapping, "What if I don't have a zanpakuto?!"
Cree and Mariya's eyes widen in surprise, taken back by Virginia's outburst.
"W-Wait, what?" Cree asks, walking closer.
"Well, I've been thinking about it, and the more I think about it, it seems more and more obvious to me that unlike you guys, I may not have "powers"." Virginia answers.
"Virginia, you're just a late bloomer-" Mariya starts.
"No! No I'm not, you said yourself just minutes ago that unlike me, these three only took hours to learn the names of their zanpakuto. It's been over a week Mariya." Virginia interrupts, "Face it...I'm powerless."
Mariya's expression becomes worried, looking over at Cree. Cree meets her glance, gesturing to her. She nods, sighing as she brings Mamori to rest at her side, pulling Virginia's attention as Cree walks around her, Hebi Denkou beginning to appear in her palm.
"Virginia, you shouldn't be saying those things about yourself...it just makes us feel bad..." Mariya trails.
Virginia seems to catch something brewing, her feet becoming a bit shifty in the dirt.
"M-Mariya..." Virginia trails.
Mariya chuckles, looking back over at her.
"I really never thought of doing this, but looks like it's gonna be one of my last options." Mariya says.
Virginia's face goes pale.
"What are you planning...to..." Virginia starts.
With a sly smirk, Mariya disappears, leaving Virginia guessing, searching in every direction.
"M-Mariya!" Virginia yells.
"Sorry Gin...this is the only way to get it out of you..."
Virginia's eyes widen, turning to see Cree gone too.
"What the-" Virginia starts.
"VIRGINIA!!"
She whips her head up, seeing both girls flying down at her, their swords ready over their heads.
"Ack!" Virginia yells, jumping out of the way to the right.
She quickly gets back to her feet, looking up to see Cree's blade swinging right at her face. She bobs under, turning around to be met by Mariya's.
"Ngh!"
Taking everyone by surprise, Virginia grabs Mariya's forearm, stopping her blade before it reaches her face, throwing her leg across Mariya's ankles, taking her down.
"Ah!" Mariya breaths, landing on her butt as Virginia breaks free, running.
"What is wrong with you guys?!" Virginia yells, turning around.
Wrong move.
Mariya reappears, throwing her blade across her body. Virginia jumps back, quick on her feet. Though, she soon feels that her idea of getting away, will only trap her worse. Backing up some more, she gasps as her back comes in contact with the rock wall of the training grounds, trapping her.
She looks back, her eyes wide as she sees Mariya glowing lime green, Mamori Koudoutai's form shifting, the blade changing and shortening, curving a bit on the end.
"...Slice with the mist, Kaniza (Cancer)!"
Virginia's eyes widen more as Mariya whips her sword right in front of her, dodging as a ray of water shoots at her from Mariya's blade.
She pants.
"What the Hell?!" Virginia yells, running as Mariya shoots more rays at her.
"Pushing you to the limit is the best thing we got at this point." Cree says, appearing in front of her, "Strike, Hebi Denkou!"
Virginia yells, ducking as Cree's blade flies over her head, turning into it's lightning bolt form.
For a few minutes, Virginia goes back and forth with Cree, which puts her on edge as she doesn't see Mariya anywhere.
...Where is she?!....
"Cree! Give it up, nothing is happening!" Virginia yells, panting as Cree begins to aim her bolt at her again for probably the seventh time, "I don't have a-"
Without warning, blades flash past her face, hitting the walls around her with a blast. She covers her face, only close enough to the blasts to feel some of the mild stuff. She gasps, feeling the scolding stream hit her.
"Ack!" Virginia yells, scrambling away, "What the heck was that?! Since when can you throw exploding daggers that explode into steam?!"
Mariya blinks nearby.
"Y'know, I actually don't know. Now that I think about, I've never had kunai." Mariya replies.
"K-Kunai? What the hell are kunai?!" Virginia yells, "Are you trying to tell me you're using a weapon you've never used before?! Are you trying to kill someone?!"
"No, I'm saying the Mamori has never had a kunai form!" Mariya yells, before vanishing.
Virginia blinks, sensing Mariya behind her. She turns, seeing her grab for a kunai that hadn't explode before, probably Mamori Koudoutai's true form in whatever zodiac form she was in now. Before she can say anything, Mariya vanishes again, surprising Virginia as Hebi Denkou flashes out of the corner of her eye, causing her to go into a back flip to avoid being injured. As Cree comes at her again, Virginia grits her teeth.
....It's like Cree is trying to distract me....but from what?!....
"Sasoriza!"
She blinks, turning to see the kunai flying at her again, at what seems to be a higher speed then before.
...Another of those attacks!...
Virginia runs fast, able to dodge the blades by only inches as they explode. As the last lands, and explodes, the force from the impact sends Virginia flying, right into the way of Cree.
"N-Ngh!"
Virginia kneels, skidding on her knees under the blade, panting again as she stops, sweat trailing down her brow.
Cree groans, walking towards her, before stopping about ten feet away for a minute before speaking.
"Oh my God, you are probably the best at dodging, I'll give you that too." Cree says, running at her, "But you're running out of options here!"
Virginia grits her teeth, running around her back towards the rock wall. She looks over her shoulder, looking to see if Cree is following.
Without warning, she feels her body lifted off the ground, thrown against the wall.
...W-What?!...
She looks up to see crystal looking objects sticking into the sleeves and legs of her kimono, pinning her to the wall, with no way to get down.
"W-What the...heck?" Virginia says, trying to pull herself free of the wall, failing.
"Don't bother, you won't be able to break free. Those ice crystals are unbreakable, only I can make those things crack." Mariya says, walking closer.
Virginia grits her teeth, looking up.
She gasps, seeing that Mamori's form has changed once more, now a whip, bards of the same objects sticking from the end.
"What the Hell Mariya?! First it was that weird sword, then the kunai, now a freaking whip?!" Virginia yells.
"I know, I admit that I'm surprised too, usually, I'm only able to use one a month, depending on the zodiac, though it seems that Mamori Koudoutai has changed...But that's not important right now." Mariya trails, "Cree, attack her!"
Virginia turns white.
"Wait, what?! No! I'll be killed!" Virginia yells.
But before she knows it, Cree appears in front of her, Hebi Denkou behind her head, poised like a javelin. Her eyes widen in horror, feeling her life slipping away.
...They're gonna kill me!...
"LIVE!"
Virginia blinks, looking up to find herself no longer with Cree and Mariya.
"W-Where..am I?" she trails.
Around her is a great ice field, blue glazed glaciers floating nearby in light lit waters. Though it seems bare and unlivable, Virginia blinks in surprise as wind blows past, unusually warm for the scene. Looking up, the sun beats bright, though it seems that even it's rays can melt the cold world. Momentarily, snow begins to fall, taking her by surprise, considering that she feels the sun on her. She puts her hands out, letting the snow fall and melt on her skin. She grins.
...This place...it's peaceful...
"Virginia...you seem to like this place..."
Virginia's eyes widen, turning to see who's talking to her. As she spots it, the light seems to disappear from her eyes.
"Y-You're a..." Virginia trails.
A White Bengal Tiger, probably about two times the size of a real one, a big one. As it walks closer, she notices that it's eyes are ice blue.
"T-TIGER!!" Virginia screams.
She hears a sigh as the Tiger steps forward.
"Calm down Virginia. Do you really not remember me?..." the voice asks.
Virginia looks around.
"W-Who said that?!" she yells.
"It was I? I am right in front of you after all."
Virginia blinks, looking back at the Tiger, who now stands before her, looking at her straight in the eyes.
"W-Wait...it couldn't be..." Virginia trails, pointing at the tiger, "The Tiger..it can't be the one....talking..."
"Actually, yes it could."
Virginia jolts.
"EEEEE!" Virginia screams, "Oh my God, Oh my God, Oh my God! A Tiger just spoke to me! I'm going INSANE!"
"You're not going insane...you're just learning my name is all." the Tiger says, somehow looking as if it's smiling.
Virginia blinks, then gasps.
"Y-You're my zanpakuto?!" Virginia yells.
The tiger nods, chuckling.
"Yes, I am your zanpakuto. That took you some time Master, I wish we could of met sooner." she replies.
"Hey, you're a girl, aren't you?" Virginia asks.
"Yes I am, why? Could you not tell from my voice? Do I sound like a man?" she asks, laughing.
"N-No! That's not it at all! I just, y'know, you're a-"
"Tiger? Yes, I guess considering I do look like this, it's easy to think I'm male. Though, as you can now tell, I'm female."
"Ah, I see..." Virginia trails, "So...um..."
"You wish to know my name, don't you..." she asks.
Virginia blinks.
"Y-Yes!" Virginia stutters.
The tiger grins.
"Alright, it is time you know my name..." she replies, "I'm..."
"Virginia!" Cree yells, throwing her bolt.
Virginia doesn't respond, worrying Mariya, especially as it comes closer.
"Cree, pull back-!" Mariya starts.
Without warning, Virginia jolts her head up, her eyes glowing the same ice blue as the tiger's as she's enveloped in a light blue light, wind blowing hard around her. Mariya and Cree gasp, taken back.
"W-What?!" Cree yells.
Mariya covers her eyes, a bright flash almost blinding her.
"N-Ngh!" Mariya breaths, blinking as she looks back up.
Her eyes widen, seeing what has stopped Cree's attack.
An inch thick sheet of ice has covered over the bolt, encasing it only centimeters from her face.
"I-Ice...?" Cree trails.
"Roar through the Blizzard..."
Mariya blinks.
"No way..." Mariya trails.
Virginia grits her teeth.
"YUKITORA (Snow Tiger)!"
Without warning, the shards of ice holding her against the wall shatter, blowing past them in the form of snow.
"No...that's impossible...she broke my Pisces..." Mariya says.
She falls on her knees, panting as the snow blows around the, a thin sheet of ice covering everything within a thirty foot radius.
Cree jumps back as she brakes her arm free of Virginia's ice, watching as she stands up.
"So...she did it..." Cree says.
Mariya grins.
"Yeah..so she's an snow and ice type. Just like Toshiro, huh?" Mariya says with a chuckle.
"For some reason, I'm not surprised." Cree laughs.
Virginia pants, looking up at them as her eyes cool back down to a darker blue.
She grins.
"Well....looks like...I was wrong after all." Virginia pants, falling to her knees, "Yukitora...she's my...zanpakuto."
...Yeah...I'm not such a weakling after all...
Without warning, the world goes black.
