Death and Reincarnation (Madison Shecker's Story) pt. 40

"...Finally! I'm back to being one person, and everything is normal again here in the Soul Society. God, I've missed you much that I'm behind on my Mahinahime case. Crap. Why couldn't they assign this to someone else. Seriously?! I'm getting tired of working on this, and might I say I say, it's one of the most boring things I've ever done in my life because I've already read all this information 14 years ago, and let me just say. it only entertained me then because 1, I was younger, 2, I hadn't read any of this info before, and 3, it was my first written assignment as a captain, and I was blindly excited. But, through all this, something bothers me...what time is it in the other world I live in?...

SOUL SOCIETY
Madison's Perspective
Slowly, light begins to peek through her eye lids, consciousness beginning to take hold once more. She blinks as she begins to open her eyes.
"Madison, can you hear me..?" Toshiro's voice sounds through her ears.
She looks up in the direction the voice came from to see the fuzzy image of white.
It's Toshiro.
"Toshiro...?" she says, her voice cracking.
He sighs.
"You had us worried." Toshiro says.
"Us?" Madison asks, confused.
"Yes, us." another voice says.
As her eyes finally clear up, she turns her head to see Aneko and Momo standing at the head of her bed, while Rangiku sits nearby.
Suddenly, the last thing that happened comes back to her. Yattamori, the fight, Devena, everything. But, as she goes through her memories, she notices something else. She remembers everything from before she came back.
"What happened?" she asks as Toshiro helps her sit up, "Where's Yattamori, and Devena?"
"You defeated her, remember?" Toshiro answers.
"What about Yattamori?" Madison asks.
Aneko and the others look confused.
"What about you?" Momo asks.
Madison looks away, then takes off her covers and runs into the bathroom connected to her room. She flips on the light and slowly turns towards the mirror, already expecting what she might see. She feels herself gasp slightly as she looks at herself in the reflection. In the reflection she sees herself, but with slightly longer bangs pushed off to the side, long strands of her chestnut hair hanging down in front while the rest of it hangs down to just above her thighs. Only one person that she has ever known to have hair even similar to this...it's Yattamori.
"I'm back to normal..." Madison says, not believing what she's seeing in the mirror..
She hears footsteps coming into the room.
She turns to see it's Toshiro, smiling.
"I'm Yattamori again." she says, smiling back, before turning back to look at herself in the mirror.
"You're not Yattamori." Toshiro comments.
She turns to look at him, confused by his words.
"What?"
"As you once said, Yattamori is dead, you're your own person, Shecker." Toshiro explains.
She becomes stunned by Toshiros words as she realizes that she had actually said that to him the day she had woken up after her fight with Kenta. She looks away for a minute, then begins to smile.
"You know Toshiro, now that I'm back to normal and remember everything that I knew before, to tell you the truth, I don't care. Because you know what?" Madison asks.
"What?" he asks.
"I am the same girl, just..with a new twist. So, call me Yattamori!" Madison yells as she tackles Toshiro, accidentally, knocking them both to the ground, causing everyone in the room to laugh, even Toshiro himself.
Slowly, she props herself on the bottom of her palm, still laughing hisarically as she does. When she opens her eyes, she finds Toshiro laughing too, making her even happier then before. As he now opens his eyes, still chuckling as he stares up at her.
Suddenly, for each, a awkward memory returns. For Madison, it is the accidental kiss they shared when Toshiro helped after she lost control while flashstepping. For Toshiro, it is the time when he had been, well, enchanted by the fake Yattamori. The two begin to instantly blush, and Madison quickly gets off of him as fast as she can being only in night gown. Luckily, they do it gracefully enough that Aneko, Momo, and Rangiku don't notice, seeing as how they're kinda still laughing. When finally everyone calms down, Toshiro and Rangiku step out while Momo and Aneko stay to catch Madison up with her assignment as she gets dressed in her captain's attire.
"So, basically, you think that Mahinahime was killed all those years ago?" Aneko asks.
"Pretty much, I mean, wouldn't you expect her to come back as soon as all the rouge Soul Reapers were captured?"  Madison asks as she pulls her sash around her stomach.
"I guess so, but records show that she had a sercet power that could bring down 20 men in one second. It seems she be able to overpower them easily." Momo comments.
"I wonder what her power was." Aneko comments.
"I looked through some records to see if she had a zampakutou, but nothing came up. I guess she just wasn't taught." Madison says.
"That would make sense, considering she's the royal princess." Momo agrees.
Madison smiles as she ties the bow at the bottom at the bottom of her tied sash. As she looks down at the bow, her vision suddenly become blurred.
"What the-?" Madison starts as suddenly she no longer sees the room she is in.
...Madison, what is wrong?...
Mamori's voice sounds through her head, the first since she had been separated. The calming voice made her relaxed, happy that she isn't entirely alone.
"Mamori, what's going on?" Madison yells.
...you are having a vision. Remember? You, as a time psychic, have the ability to see the past and future...
"Oh, yeah..."
Without warning, a strong light takes hold around her, until finally she finds herself in what appears to be a palace from feudal times, something that she has only seen in books and TV shows.
...Where the heck am I?...
Out of nowhere, a blade peaks from the corner of her eye, her instinct to perry taking over as another sword hits the coming blade. She feels the sword come again and again at her own, until finally, she finds a point. Without mercy, she swings her arm, curves her blade around the other swordsmen's, and flings it from their hand, it landing about 10 feet behind her. She sticks the sword at the man's neck, prepared to strick and finish him. But, without warning, he begins to clap, and smiles.
"Great job, your higness, you are becoming a master at wielding your zampakutou faster then anyone I have ever seen in my life. I do not see why you keep this secret from your parents, they would be amazed by your talent-" The girl at the other end of her blade praises.
...Your highness..?...
"Don't you ever speak of this with my parents!" she hears herself snap at the girl, surprising her.
Madison begins to freak. She wasn't the one that said that!
"But, Princess-" the girl starts.
"No, Kiara. If my parents were to discover that I wield a zampakutou, and even know shikai, they would disown me, if not send me to the streets. My parents made it clear to all of their children that they did not want us to gain the power of a Zampakutou, for they think that it will make us somehow wicked or dependent on their powers. But, I realized soon enough that they did not do as they said it would. I have not only gained intuition on how to protect myself, but, when I become Queen, I believe my knowledge and experience of these swords will actually help me become a greater leader then my parents." Madison hears herself explain, "But, until the time that I take the throne of the Soul Society, you must keep your lips shut, and your mind hushed."
Madison can't believe what she's hearing. Parents? Princess? Future Queen of the Soul Society?! It's clear now. She isn't just in the memories of anyone, she's in the memories of the one that she has been looking for the last 14 years.
Princess Mahinahime.
As she watches the girl solemly nod, Madison tries to make sense of why she is seeing this.
...So, she did have a zampakutou. But, for some reason, her parents didn't want her to, so she never told them and kept it hidden away. That would make sense to why the zampakutou's existense was never recorded. But, still, why am I able to see this, I shouldn't be able to see into her memories, from this long ago...
"Y-Yes, my lady." the girl answers, "But, my lady, what is your zampakutou? What does it do?"
Mahina sighs and turns towards her, holding out her blade horizontal to the ground. As she does so, Madison tries to see the guard and hilt.
...If I see the hilt, I might be able to find out if she's disguised as a soul reaper nowadays...
"My zampakutou I guess you could say, controls that of which controls all of us." Mahina states.
...What the heck is that supposed to mean?!...
"The name of my sword is..." Mahina begins, before the world around Madison begins to contort and the image fades.
...NO!...
Within a second, Madison finds herself starring back down at her sashes' bow.
"Madison...?" Aneko's voice asks, sounding worried.
"Damn it! I didn't see it! And I didn't hear it either, I so close!" Madison snaps.
She looks up at that moment to see Momo and Aneko starring at her, surprised to hear her say the word "Damn", considering she never says stuff like that. It's now that she realizes that they have no idea what she is talking about. She grins awkwardly.
"S-Sorry. I uh, had um, a-" she starts.
"Vision?" Aneko finishes.
Madison becomes surprised by the fact that Aneko actually knows what happened.
"H-How did you-?" Madison starts.
"You're a time psyhic, meaning that you probably have the ability to see the future, and second, I've been you're lietenant for a while now, I think I've got a gist of what your abilities are by now." Aneko explains, smiling, "So, what did you see this time?"
Madison looks away, then sighs.
"She had a zampakutou..." Madison starts.
"What?" Aneko asks.
"She had a zampakutou! What part of that is not easy to understand?!" Madison yells, irritated.
"Who had a zampakutou?" Momo asks.
"Mahinahime!" Madison answers.
"Mahinahime!? That's impossible, it wasn't in the records-" Aneko starts.
"The Soul King and Queen didn't want their children, including Mahinahime, to have the ability to use a zampakutou, so they forbid it. But, Mahinahime accidentally learned about her own and began training with someone without her parents' knowledge. That explains why information about her zampakutou was never writen down. It's because other then maybe one person, no one knew about it." Madison explains, "But unfortunately, the vision didn't last long enough for me to see the guard and hilt or hear her say it's name, so we're still at a loss."
"How did you see all that? Our abilities don't let us see other's past experiences without at least owning something of their's." Aneko asks, stunned by Madison's explanations.
Madison's eyes widen in surprise, before she looks away, trying to find the reason herself.
"Who knows, the important thing right now is that we got a new piece of information that can help us in the future with this case." Madison says as she walks away, opening the door to Toshiro's surprise.
"Madison? What happened?" Toshiro asks as she walks down the hall.
"We're going to go see Grandpa Yama." Madison says.
"Madison, wait." Toshiro says as he stops her.
His actions surprise her.
"Toshiro, what's wrong?" Madison asks.
"I was thinking about it, and I was wondering, haven't you been here for about six days?" Toshiro asks.
Madison is surprised by his question, at least until it finally sinks in about why he said that.
Six days here is about 15 hours back home in her world. Meaning, she's missing school and is probably right now sitting in a hospital bed with her family wondering why she won't wake up!
"Crap!" Madison yells as she begins to run out.
"Madison, wait!" Toshiro calls after her as she exists the building.
Suddenly, in mid pace, she feels a sight pressure around her right wrist, stopping her in her tracks. She looks down to the surprise of a chain bracelet around her wrist, with a purple diamond-shaped charm hanging from one of the rings.
"What the-?" she starts.
Without warning, the charm begins to glow and shines a bright light, blinding Madison and the others for minute. When they can see again, Madison finds a senkaimon like void ahead of her, white light shining from within.
"What's that?" Aneko asks.
"Seems to be a senkaimon or something." Madison says as she walks closer to it.
Suddenly, Toshiro's arm stops her from walking closer, surprising her.
"Toshiro, whay are you doing?" she asks.
"Be careful, you don't know where it leads to." Toshiro warns.
Madison looks back at the portal, not believing in Toshiro's words. Suddenly, from inside the portal, the familar whiney of a horse sounds out, surprising her.
"Mamori.." Madison says as she steps out from behind Toshiro, surprising them.
"Madison, what are you doing!?" Toshiro calls after her as she walks towards the senkaimon.
"It's ok, this senkaimon is a connection between this world and the other world I live in. I'll be fine, don't worry." Madison says as she goes to put her hand into the void.
Suddenly, she feels herself tackled from behind.
"Madison, stop!" she hears Toshiro yell.
But, it all fades as the white light engulfs her, sending her back to where she belongs.

Death and Reincarnation (Madison Shecker's Story) pt. 39

"...Peace in death is what we all stride to have when our days on this Earth end. For me, I guess the way I just did this is ok. I mean, sure, I wish I could of had a boyfriend or gone to senior prom. Heck, I wish I could of gone to college and get married. But, oh well, I guess I can't change what has happened now, considering that I'm probably dead. But, again, I have to wonder, if I'm dead, then 1, is Toshiro dead? 2, Did anyone find us? and 3, If I'm, luckily, not dead, then what the heck is going on outside, where, at the moment, I'm unconscious...?"

Toshiro's Perspective
Slowly, the light begins to come back into his eyes, seeming to awake after being stabbed. As his eyes begin to clear, he looks around to see what has happened. He can't hear any sword-fighting nearby, meaning that someone is either dead, or somehow, Devena got away. He turns and gasps as he sees Shecker lying right beside him, new cuts and scraps dug into her skin.
"Shecker!" Toshiro says as he sits up and pulls her over to be laying on her back.
He shakes her, getting no response, only little grunts in pain, the only thing that she did that alerted that said she is alive. He notices that she's hold her side, the same place that he had seen her be stabbed earlier. He grits his teeth in guilt, and holds her head up his left arm, causing her to slightly wince in pain.
"Sorry Shecker, if I hadn't just attack out of emotion, maybe you wouldn't of lost-" Toshiro starts to apologize.
"...She didn't lose." a familiar voice says from behind him.
Toshiro turns to see Yattamori standing behind him, no longer underneath Devena's influence.
"Yattamori, h-how are you-?" Toshiro asks.
"When Shecker defeated Devena, she was able to separate me from her before Devena disappeared..." Yattamori explains.
Toshiro looks away, then grins after a moment.
"I'm glad you're alright, but, if not healed soon, Shecker's going to-" he says as he begins to pick up Shecker.
"Wow, wow, calm down. She'll be fine, I mean, she was the one who healed you." Yattamori says as she stops him from picking Shecker up.
Toshiro's expression becomes that of shock.
"She did what?"
"You haven't noticed yet? The fact that you're no longer bleeding?" Yattamori asks, surprised herself.
Toshiro feels around the scratch to feel absolutely no pain lining the red mark. He looks down at the panting Shecker and smiles.
"It seems that I underestimated you, Shecker. You must have a lot of power just like your counterpart." Toshiro says, "Thank you."
"She used Bankai."
"What?!"
"It was her only choice, if she hadn't, she would of been killed."
"She had enough power to even evoke Bankai?"
"That's right."
Toshiro looks away.
"She really is you. Just in different skin."
Yattamori grins.
"Oh, Toshiro, you are such an idiot. She isn't me."
Toshiro looks surprised by Yattamori's comment, and looks up at her.
"I died 14 years ago, I no longer exist. Shecker just uses my name so that you and others won't treat her differently then you used to treat me." Yattamori explains, "She isn't Madison Yattamori, she's Madison Shecker."
Suddenly, something that Madison had said before being spilt in two comes back to the front of his mind.
"...I'm not that happy go lucky girl who you joked around with when you were a kid. I'm Madison Shecker. A 14 year old who just wants to draw and hang out with friends and be a normal teenager! Yattamori died, I might look like her and have her memories, but I'm not her!..."
He looks down at Shecker, and notices something glinting under her jacket. He moves it back slightly to find the black cross pendant that looks exactly like his squad's symbol resting peacefully on her scarlet stained shirt. The symbol though itself wasn't what surprised him, it's the clear film of bluish ice covering it, shining in the coming and going sunlight as the clouds passed over.
"But there is one thing that has never changed..." Yattamori says as kneels at Toshiro's side.
"What's that?" Toshiro asks.
Yattamori smiles.
"The fact that you are my best friend, meaning that I'll do everything I can to keep you safe..." Yattamori answers, "...I proved it 14 years ago, and today, Shecker has done the same exact thing."
"Yatta-" Toshiro starts.
"Enough with this talk, we need to heal her before she looses any more blood." Yattamori interupts as she puts her hand over Shecker's wound.
Slowly. A yelllowish glow appears from her hand, the skin beginning to reappear over the stab wound. She looks up at Toshiro.
"Well, c'mon, help me."
Toshiro looks surprised by her comment.
"How can I help?"
"This type of healing is very painful on the person," Yattamori explains, before jesturing her head towads Shecker, "Look."
He looks down as Yattamori instructs to see Shecker wincing and her closed eyes twiching in pain, small grunts escaping her mouth each time skin tugs as it heals itself. Suddenly, she gasps, a slight scream escaping from her lips. Without thinking, he pulls her closer, holding her beneath his chin.
"Shecker, calm down. Yattamori is healing you." Toshiro says.
He looks up at Yattamori to see her face taken on the look of surprise.
"What?"
"How did you do that?"
"Do what?"
"Right now, she should be at least struggling in your arms from the pain, but..." Yattamori starts.
Toshiro looks back down to see Shecker lying still in his arms, no longer wincing or grunting whatsoever. The pained look on her face has vanished, her expression now that of a calm slumber, as if she had just fallen asleep in her bed.
"She's totally calm."
Yattamori grins and chuckles.
"It seems that there's more to you then I ever thought Toshiro. The ability to calm her when she should be in the greatest of pain."
Toshiro grins.
"It's not really an ability. Ever since we were younger, you've done this."
Yattamori looks surprised.
"Seriously?"
"Yepp."
"Hmm. Who knew."
"Now it's my turn, what happens now that Devena is defeated, and you're free?"
Yattamori sits there and thinks for a moment.
"Before I say this, you must understand what exactly the Bijuu were trying to do. You see, the reason they wanted to separate us was because they thought that when they did, you would side with the one that resembled the orginal Yattamori the most, being myself. The other, they thought, you wouldn't trust as well and would initually believe that she housed Devena from the beginning. But, that's what they got wrong. Instead, you took to both of us, and never thought either of us could house her." Yattamori explains, "But, they had a plan B just in case that didn't happen. When Shecker had shot her arrow towards me and ended up going towards you, that was actually not planned, just bad position at the wrong time. Though, they used it against her. A bijuu with the ability to control someone movements made her look like Devena was trying to take control of her body, when actually, she didn't house her at all, I did. Then, when you both were far away from me, Devena took the oportunity to come to the surface and make a surprise attack, which in the end Shecker ended up shielding you from. The rest you already know."
Toshiro looks down at Shecker.
"So, they did it all, just to make me think that Shecker was the enemy when she wasn't. I feel like such an idiot."
"In short, they wanted you to kill off both of us by killing the pure Madison. That was their intention since they separated us. Though in the end, their plan failed, and Shecker saved us both."
Toshiro smiles.
"You still haven't answered the initail question." Toshiro says, "What happens to you two now?"
Yattamori sighs.
"All done." Yattamori says as the glow disappears from her hands.
"Yattamori, answer me."
Suddenly, she begins to glow a light lime green.
"Wha-What the-?" Toshiro starts.
"Because Devena and I shared my body, I was pretty much destroyed. But my memories, will becomes those of Shecker's, and she will take my place as Yattamori. I, in essense, will just become a name of a girl that passed long ago, disappearing in all."
Slowly, she begins to become seee through.
"Yattamori, no..."
"Don't worry Toshiro, I'm not really going anywhere. I'll still be right here, I'll just be Shecker, not Yattamori." Yattamori reassures him as she fades.
Toshiro smiles.
"I've always missed you, Yattamori." Toshiro comments.
"See you soon, Toshiro..."
Suddenly, Yattamori's body diminishes into lime green mist, hanging there far a moment in the air. Then, instantly, the mist surronds Shecker, seeping into her body. Her body glows, wind surronding them as she still glows. Toshiro covers his eyes and waits until the breeze fades, slowly opening his eyes. He looks down and gasps. Shecker no longer looks like Shecker. Her appearance has changed back to that of Yattamori's, everything about her exactly the same. The only difference from before is that she still wears the cross necklace around her neck, the only clue that shows she's the same person from before. Toshiro grins.
"Welcome back, Madison, welcome back..."

Death and Reincarnation (Madison Shecker's Story) pt. 38

"...Rage can both a plus and minus in a battle. On the plus side, it can sometimes increase your strengh and abilities by about 10 times what it usually is, giving you the advantage in the duel. But at the same time, i can blind you from the obvious and can cost you not only a duel, but your own life. Is there a possible way to harness the power that rage and hatred can give, without getting the negative effects of being easier prey? Right now, as I stand here in front of Devena, one thing is certain. I'm going to destroy her..."

Madison Shecker's Perspective
Madison gasps in terror as Toshiro falls to the ground, blood dripping from his body as his wound lets out more by the second. Her heart pounds hard, trying it's best not to stop from the shock of what she had just seen.
"T-Toshiro!" Madison yells, her voice cracking.
He doesn't reply.
"Toshiro, wake up, Toshiro-! Madison starts to cry.
"Shut your mouth." Devena snaps as she grabs Madison by the neck.
Madison coughs as she tries to breath, Devena chuckling as her blood red eyes glare her down.
"I will never understand you people. The way you care for each other is sickening." Devena says.
Madison looks down at her.
"Sickening huh? What about you?" Madison comments.
Devena's eyes become more dangerous.
"What are you saying?" Devena asks, her voice colder then before.
"You're a hollow right? You must have your own pride or something. But is what you call your "pride" even ethical? Admit it, all you know is murder and slaughter, that's not pride, or knowledge, that's pure barbaric idiocy-!" Madison explains.
Before Madison can finish, Devena right hooks her in the cheek, causing her to spat more blood.
"You little WENCH!" Devena spats outraged by Madison's comment.
She throws Madison to the side, allowing her to breath, but get scratched and cut by uprooted rocks. She slowly sits up as Devena walks closer, Mamori appearing in her right hand as she draws closer.
"It's that very arrogance that I absolutely despise. You don't know a thing about me-" Devena spits.
"You're wrong." Madison interupts.
"What?" Devena asks.
"Ever since you were created, you lived in the shadows of Yattamori's mind. Ever since I discovered my past, I've also lived in the shadows of Yattamori. No one ever called me Shecker until we were split into two different people. I was pretty much invisible. You go through the same thing, but because of the fact that you're a hollow, you don't have compassion or hope, just the lust of malace and murder." she explains, beginning to glow a light green, surprising Devena.
"Wha-What?" Devena says.
"But, there's a slight difference between us..." Shecker says as she begins to stand up, the light increasing around her, " I'M NOT A MURDERER!"
Within a second, Mamori appears in her hand, and she stands it straight up and down, the hilt up.
"I don't know what will happen since I haven't used it since I've returned to this world. But I don't take too kindly to people who hurt my best friend."
Devena's eyes widen.
"You wouldn't." Devena says.
"BANKAI!" Madison yells, the light consuming her.
As the light works around her body, a voice comes to her mind.
...you're using Bankai?!...
Mamori's voice sounds worried. Madison smiles.
"I'll be fine, just lend me your strengh, please, for Yattamori...and Toshiro." Madison says.
...Alright...be strong...Madison...
Wings spread on her back as her clothes transform into her regular kimono, the pants now a skirt. The top of her kimono looks the same till the bottom of the breasts, in which a band goes across, her modified haori flowing out from under the band over her skirt, the cut off showing off her lean stomach and bellybutton. Winglike attachments connect to her arms and attach onto her back. As she is revealed from her light, her larger wings flap hard, sending Devena to her knees.
"How? How are you this strong?" Devena says, infuriated by Madison's spiritual pressure.
Madison holds out her arm, Mamori in bow n' arrow form.
"It's over." Madison says as she pulls back an arrow on the string of the bow.
"No..." Devena says as she begins to stumble back.
"Forgive me, Yattamori." Madison says, "Bankai, JUMON MAMORI-KOUDOUTAI(Spell of the Zodiac Charmer), MAISOU ITEZA CHIJUU(10,000 Sagittarius Burial).
Within seconds, thousands of arrows shoot from her bow, leaving no escape for Devena.
Devena grits her teeth in irritation and true hatred.
"D-Damn you!" Devena yells, before disappearing into nothing.
As the attack ends, her bow disapates into the wind. She smiles and sighs.
"I won...Toshiro...I won.." Madison says as her bankai fades.
She looks over to see Toshiro still laying on the ground. She hurries over as fast as she can, exhaustion taking hold of her body. When she comes to stand next to him, her knees give out under her, leaving her kneeling next to him.
"I guess I wasn't as ready as I thought I was to use bankai. I'm tired..." Madison says, before chuckling, "I guess I'm just hopeless, aren't I Toshiro."
Slowly, she reaches out her hand to touch his wounded back, a yellow light spawning from her hand.
"I'll heal you as best I can, but I'm afraid I can't do much in my condition."
Slowly, the world begins to become darker. Suddenly she falls to the side, unable any longer to keep her body up to heal him. Her eyes begin to blur.
...crap, I'm going unconscious...this isn't good...we'll both bleed out...
Sudden footsteps alarm her. She looks up to see a familiar outline standing above Toshiro and her. The being crouches down and takes hold of her hand.
"Thank you...Shecker, you saved us...thank you." the familiar voice says.
Madison tries to grin as the darkness finally takes hold.
...that's something I can live with as my final words...yeah, that's good enough...
Darkness.

Death and Reincarnation (Madison Shecker's Story) pt. 37

"...Seeing what just happened, I sad to say I am actually glad that I'm not the one who holds Devena inside me. But, then again, I can't believe that I just saw what I did. I have never seen what I look like when I'm under Devena's influence. And, to say the truth, I'm glad I haven't. It's like I'm starring into the dark, evil, blood-red eyes of the true Devil. I cringe not only because my injury I got protecting Toshiro, but because I'm appauld with myself to know that inside me, there is a true evil hidden away in the shadows of my mind. And not only that, I hurt people I care aboout in this state, including my best friend..."

Toshiro stares in shock as Shecker stands above him, a blade sticking out of her lower left side. Suddenly, the blade turns, causing Shecker grunt in agony, before it disappears back out where it came in. Instantly, she begins to fall backwards, luckily to be caught by him. He instantly turns her over to be relieved. The sword had only pierced the muscle on her left side. She slowly opened her eyes, and tries to smirk up at him.
"You never listen, do you?" Shecker says, her eyes barely showing life.
"Madison, I-I-" Toshiro starts as Madison begins to sit up.
"We have no time for apologizes, we have something else to worry about at the moment." Shecker says as she tries to stand, holding her side. trying to keep scarlet blood from draining more.
"W-What do you mean?" Toshiro asks.
"She means you're gonna die, boy." a high pitch voice says from behind him.
Toshiro turns and gasps, to see glaring red eyes starring him down from above him.
...Yattamori held Devena, not Shecker...but how?...
Toshiro stares in horror as Yattamori, now Devena, stands there, smirking at him. Her now white hair blows away in the wind, revealing her other red eye.
"Hello, so nice to see you again after all this time." Devena says, moving her bangs from in front of her right eye.
"So, it was you, Yattamori was the one that held you!" Toshiro yells.
Devena chuckles.
"Yes, it's true, and man, the look on your face as he was about to kill you was absolutely histarical!" Devena laughs at Shecker.
Toshiro grits his teeth.
"Bite your tongue!" Toshiro yells, surprising Devena and Shecker, "You have no right to be making fun of her, at least she doesn't have to be tucked away in the back of Madison's mind!"
"Now you you bite your own tongue!" Devena snaps, angered by Toshiro's comment, before smirking, "Are you kidding? Shecker is also a spirit that's had to be locked away in the back of Yattamori's mind."
"What are you talking about?" Toshiro asks.
"You're serious? Whenever Madison comes to this world, Shecker is taken into the back of the mind while Yattamori controls the body and thought, the only reason neither of them realized this is because their souls were merged." Devena explains.
Toshiro catches his breath then turns to Shecker, whos still standing behind him.
"M-Madison, is that true?" Toshiro asks.
She sighs and looks up.
"Yes, it is." Shecker says, before Devena begins to laugh louder then before.
"See? Now, taking that into consideration, aren't you happy that it was Yattamori I took over?-" Devena starts.
"NO! I'll never be happy with you inhabiting the body that used to belong to that of one of my friends, it's unforgivable!" Shecker snaps infuriated by Devena's comment.
Devena raises an eyebrow.
"Hmm? Is that so? Well then, now knowing that..." Devena starts before disappearing, reappearing again behind Shecker, "...I feel no hesitation in taking your life."
...Shecker!...
As Devena swings her own Mamori towards the unprepared Shecker, Toshiro flashsteps in front of her just in time to be able to perry her attack. Devena laughs as she keeps striking and pushing at Toshiro again and again with her blade, her sword showing no remorse everytime it comes back to meet his own blade in a pool of sparks. With a minute, Devena jumps back, allowing Toshiro to take a moment to breath.
"Toshiro!" Shecker yells as she rushes to his side.
As he pants as he looks up at her, worry and fear shinning bright in her eyes. He tries his best to grin.
"I'm alright Madison, don't worry. We'll get her, somehow." Toshiro say as he stands back up.
Suddenly, Devena appears behind him, her sword ready at her side.
"Die." Devena whispers.
Before Toshiro can react, Shecker pushes him to the side, then makes a hand gesture.
"Barrier!" she yells.
Luckily, right before Devena's sword hits, the barrier appears, and saves them. Devena snears in irritation at the two of them, then laughs.
"You're joking right, do you really think such a weak barrier, could stand up to my power?" Devena says.
Shecker and Toshiro look up in surprise.
"What?" Toshiro says.
Without warning, Devena begins to glow black/purple, the energy surging around all three of them.
"Crap, she's releasing shikai!" Shecker yells.
Toshiro's eyes widen.
"She has this much power in shikai?!" Toshiro asks.
"Well, remember that she's also absorbing Yattamori's power, so it isn't all her's." Shecker explains.
Toshiro turns from facing Shecker to look at Devena, who's now engulfed by the black/purple glow. He grits his teeth and stares down at the ground, then beats his fist into the dirt, surprising Shecker.
"T-Toshiro-" Shecker starts.
"This is my fault." Toshiro states.
"What? no it's not!-" Shecker reacts.
"Yes it is, if I hadn't asked you to go scouting with me, then this would of never happened." Toshiro snaps.
Shecker catches her breath in surprise, then turns away.
"See, I am to blame, so, to pay back for what happened, I'll defeat Devena-" Toshiro says.
"What! Are you crazy?!" Shecker snaps.
"No, I'm not! I'm doing what's right!-"
"It's not right if you end up getting injured or killed!" Shecker snaps.
Toshiro shuts up as Devena begins to appear out of the energy. He and Shecker stare in shock at her wings, which instead of being pure white, are pure black, the weapon of her choice being still the sword version of Mamori Koudoutai. Toshiro grits his teeth and stands, surprising Shecker as he slowly begins to glow blue.
"T-Toshiro?-" Shecker starts.
"Reign over the frosted heavens, Hyorinmaru!" Toshiro yells, also being engulfed by his energy.
"Toshiro!" Shecker yells, in shock.
When he reappears, his appearance hasn't changed, but his sword now has a chain and strange looking cresant shaped weapon on the end attached to his sword. He stares down Devena.
"What's this? Are you planning on fighting me?" Devena laughs, "You realize that since I have both Yattamori's strengh and my own, it means I will beat you about three times harder, right?"
"I don't care about that. You will die by my blade and I'll do it here and now!" Toshiro yells, running from Shecker's protective barrier, before flashstepping to reappear about 10 feet above Devena.
"Toshiro-!" Shecker yells.
"Stay where you are Madison, you're too injured to fight." Toshiro snaps as he throws his sword down on Devena, causing a large amounts of sparks.
Devena smirks.
"Such a dumb boy..." Devena says as she disappears, taking Toshiro by surprise, before reappearing right behind him, "You're blind bravery is your ultimate dimise, Toshiro Hitsugaya."
Without regret, she stabs her blade into Toshiro's back, running it through to the other side.
...H-How?...That's...impossible...
"TO-TOSHIRO!" Shecker yells as Devena pulls back her blade, releasing Toshiro.
He falls to his hands and knees, coughing slight bites of scarlet blood.
Shecker watches in horror. He turns back towards her and tries to grin.
"S-Sorry, Madison." Toshiro whispers.
Suddenly, Devena's foot barrels into Toshiros stomach, sending him flying about 20 feet.
When he lands, he's met by Devena's foot again, stomping his stomach again hard into the ground.
"Such an idiot you are. I sometimes wonder why Yattamori cares so much for a scoundrel like you." Devena says as she glares down at him, "Even though we share the same body, I must say that instead of finding you funny and somewhat attractive like her, I see you as a vile and disgusting white rat who needs to be erased."
Devena raises her sword above her head, showing no remorse.
"Now die, rodent."
As it swings down, Toshiro finds himself bracing for death, leaving no regrets but one.
...I wish I could save you, Shecker, I really do...

Pt. 36, EARLY RELEASE!!

Want to go ahead and get this part out, so here's pt. 36, enjoy :-)

Maddie

Death and Reincarnation (Madison Shecker's Story) pt. 36

"...Who knew that I looked so...heroic when I died 14 years ago? Ok, I know that probably sounds strange to people who have absolutely no idea what the heck happened to me, but it's true. Standing here, watching Yattamori sacrifice her own safety to protect Toshiro is truly incredible in my eyes, considering she is me. But, as I watch, another, darker feeling is creeping up in my body. Could it be that it's Devena? Am I the one who holds her and will end up being killed? Or am I just scaring myself into believing that I hold her? Man, I wish I was back in that store in Karakura Town in the World of the Living, because in truth, I could really use another day of having Yattamori as my friend, not an enemy..."

Madison Shecker's Perspective
Madison gawks in horror at Yattamori as she stands over Toshiro, an arrow stabbed into her mid right side.
"Ma-Madison!" Madison yells, still up in the air.
"Ya-Yattamori!" Toshiro yells, staring up at her.
Yattamori grunts in pain as she falls to her knees, the pain of the arrow shocking her nerves. Toshiro rushes to her side.
"Yattamori, are you alright?" Toshiro asks.
Yattamori looks up at him, the light disappearing from her eyes.
"I-I'm fine. Don't worry, I'll be fine." Yattamori says, trying to take in air, "But what about you? Are you hurt?"
"Never mind me. You're seriously injured." Toshiro says, trying to help her back to her feet.
"But-But the duel-" Yattamori starts.
"Forget the duel! You need medical attention, now!"
"I can't stop fighting until Devena is destroyed."
Toshiro grits his teeth in irriatation. Madison slowly sinks in the sky until she is on ground, still in shock from what she has just done as she tooo falls to her knees. Her hands quiver, and her bow shakes irractically. She looks down at her weapon, disgusted by it's every part and thread. She tries to throw it from her hand, put her hand won't become unclentched around the straight of the bow. At the occuarance, her heart begins to beat hard.
...Why can't I let go?!...
Suddenly, she feels herself rise to her feet, not controlling her limbs at all.
...Wha-What?!...
Slowly, her right arm reaches across her bow, the way she makes an arrow appear. Her eyes become full of fear, knowing that since she no longer has control of any of her limbs. As her arrow appears, she feels her arm begin to draw it back on the the thread. She cracks in fear.
"Toshiro, take Yattamori and move!" Madison yells.
Toshiro turns his head, and moves just in time to dodge the speeding arrow. Madison sighs in relief, glad she actually missed.
"What are you doing?!" Toshiro yells holding Yattamori by holding her arm over his shoulder.
"I-I don't have control of my body!" she yells back, "You need to get out of here!"
Toshiro gasps in shock, then looks down. Madison watches in confusion as Toshiro places Yattamori on the ground, before to turning back to face her. Suddenly, she begins to get back the feeling in her arms, allowing her to gain back control of them. She smiles.
...I have control again...
She looks back up to see Toshiro walking closer to her, his sword at his side. Her heart skips a beat.
...He thinks I have Devena...
She begins to become scared.
"T-Toshiro?" Madison says.
"Forgive me Shecker..." Toshiro say as he stops, standing above her now.
Her eyes widen in shock.
"Y-You don't think I-" Madison asks.
He looks away, not wanting to look at her face.
"Y-You don't think I am Devena's holder, do you?!"
He looks back at her.
"I have no choice but to think that.."
Madison gasps in disbelif.
"N-No..."
Slowly, Toshiro's sword rises above his head, he not able to look at her at all.
Madison looks away as tears begin to run down her face, only to be surprised by a smirking face off in the shadows of the cliff.
The women seems to be wearing a dark cloth, her shoulders and head the oly thing not hidden by the cape-like attire. Her hair is jet, black, but her eyes that of the same scarlet color as Devena's, cold and deadly, wanting nothing but see running blood. Suddenly, she realizes what has happened.
She turns back and rises to her feet, stopping Toshiro's arm as it begins to swing down. Her actions surprise him, probably only fueling his suspicions of her keeping Devena.
"What do you think you're doing?!' Toshiro yells.
"Stop! You don't know what you're doing!" Madison yells back.
"You can't delay your death. You are the one that owns Devena!"
"Toshiro, listens to me! I now know why I couldn't control my body-!"
"I know too, it's because Devena is beginning to sweep out of you!"
"Will you just listen to me for one minute!?"
"I can't waist your time, I have to destroy Devena now!"
"Just let me explain!"
"It's too late to explain anything! I'm sorry, but I've got to do this!"
Toshiro somehow grees himself from Madison's grip and shoves her back, knocking her to her knees. He points his sword at her neck, stopping her before she can get back on her feet.
"Please Madison, don't make this harder then it is." Toshiro says, raising his sword back above his head.
Madison stays silent.
"Tell, me Toshiro, why don't you believe Yattamori is holding Devena?" Madison asks.
Toshiro is surprised by his question.
"Be-Because."
"Because what?"
"Just because-"
Because what Toshiro-?"
"Because she saved me!"
His answer shuts Madison up.
"She saved me from being injured or killed again, and it's time that I least return the favor by finishing her battle." Toshiro explains.
Madison looks away. He sighs and raises his sword once more.
"I"m sorry." Toshiro says as he begins to swing.
One glance later, Madison dodges his attack, and turns him to be behind her, only to meet white hair and red eyes staring at her as a blade stabs into her right upper chest.
